FOR SCHOOLS

The Museum of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Padua is a dynamic and innovative educational center, dedicated to offering stimulating educational experiences for schools of all levels. Each year, the museum welcomes numerous classes, proposing activities that combine theory and practice, making learning engaging and accessible.

Thanks to the collaboration with the Department of Comparative Biomedicine and Nutrition, the Museum offers a variety of educational paths, designed to enhance the heritage of its collections and bring young people closer to the world of veterinary medicine. The activities are designed to adapt to every school level, exploring topics such as comparative anatomy, ecology, and species conservation.

The educational offer is divided into three main types:

  • Guided Tours: Allow exploration of the Museum and its collections through thematic paths that delve into veterinary medicine and animal anatomy.
  • Educational Workshops: Practical experiences, in which students manipulate and study osteological preparations, to understand the differences between domestic and wild animals and discover species’ adaptation to their environment.
  • Customized Projects: Tailored activities, adaptable to school curricula and the specific needs of visiting classes.

PLAN A VISIT

Where to eat

Packed lunch: The museum does not have a place for the class to have lunch. In case of good weather, we recommend using the outdoor spaces of the Agripolis campus.

How many classes together?

Educational activities take place directly in the Museum or a dedicated room based on the type of workshop. It is not possible to conduct more than one educational workshop simultaneously in the same space, but we can propose some targeted activities to involve the group that would otherwise be excluded. While the first group will carry out the educational workshop in the Museum, the second group can visit the diffused collections within the Agripolis Campus. They can be guided to the dioramas of the Pentagon building, a series of thematic showcases that enhance the species of animals present in the various environments of the Veneto region.
