THE COLLECTIONS

The Museum houses four rich and diverse collections of specimens, ranging from domestic animals such as dogs, cats, cattle, and horses, to wild terrestrial and marine animals such as deer, tigers, turtles, and dolphins.
Each collection offers an incredible opportunity for study and in-depth exploration for students, researchers, and enthusiasts. Thanks to their diversity and connection with the history of veterinary medicine, they are an invaluable tool for research and teaching.

RESEARCH

The collections of the Museum of Veterinary Medicine are at the center of intense research activity aimed at enhancing and deepening the scientific heritage. This work is conducted both by the staff of the Museum and the Department of Comparative Biomedicine and Nutrition, as well as by external researchers. Discover the scientific publications and the main research projects in which the Museum participates, from collaborations with other institutions to scientific exhibitions to participation in conferences and seminar series. Each project contributes to enhancing the historical and educational importance of the collections, making the Museum a point of reference for experts in the field.

HISTORY

The Museum of Veterinary Medicine, one of the youngest museums of the University of Padua, combines tradition and innovation to tell the story and evolution of veterinary medicine.
